This is a 1990s vintage fairy tale character figure of Princess Ariel from Disney's " The Little Mermaid " video movies and animated TV series . She is an approximately 11 inch tall (approximately 1/6 or 1:6 play scale) fashion doll and has a young teenage body style like Barbie's teen sister Skipper from the late 1990s. She can be used for bathtub or other water play, and her hair has a braid that changes color when exposed to warm water temperatures. Due to the age of this item, I cannot guarantee that the color change feature will be in working order when it is received or that it will continue to work . It was made by Mattel for Disney in 1997 as part of a hard to find "Let's Swim" merbabysitter gift set. Please note that this auction is for the one item described only , and other dolls and display props or accessories are not included. She could be used as a model to customize for your own one-of-a-kind (OOAK) custom repaint or clothing or art and craft creations , or a wonderful addition to a dream house dollhouse or castle , miniature Disneyland or Walt Disney World Theme Park, or an "Ever After" or "Once Upon a Time" or "under the sea" diorama display, and would also be a unique birthday, holiday, or wedding cake topper. It has been carefully removed from the box and has never been used or displayed, but may have age, paint, or manufacturing flaws. The rubber band that held her hair back has deteriorated due to age and left residue. Her hair is very stiff from the styling products used in the manufacturing process. Due to the age of this piece, any hair bands or fasteners are prone to deterioration/ cracks and flaking. Some additional deterioration may occur in shipping or when moving the item and may not be pictured. You should expect that you will need to replace any hair bands or fasteners . Although I try to mention or photograph any significant flaws that I see, it is being sold as is, so please look closely at the pictures and ask any questions before bidding.
